CPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic level

This course includes training to perform basic rigging work, involving the movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters; and cantilever crane loading platforms.

Introduction:

Target Audience:

This course is intended for any person who is required to undertake basic rigging operations as part of their duties.

This unit has a pre-requisite requirement. This requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging or holding a valid licence for dogging.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify and understand the relevant workplace health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Communicate effectively using appropriate equipment.
  • Assess the task to be completed.
  • Use the hierarchy of controls to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
  • Inspect ground suitability.
  • Identify the limitations of different types of rigging, safety and other equipment.
  • Calculate safe work loads and working load limits.
  • Read and interpret basic structure charts and structure plans (site information).
  • Erect, dismantle, level, plumb and stabilize plant and structures.
  • Work safely at heights and use the correct safety equipment.
  • Make temporary connections of ropes using fibrous and synthetic types, splice and whip fibre and synthetic ropes.
  • Store equipment according to appropriate standards.

Learning Methods:

Delivery option 1: 5-day face-to-face training sessions and final assessment. Delivery length may vary dependent on client needs.
 
Delivery option 2: Initial enrolment, induction and logbook issue to learn while operating under the supervision of a licenced operator at your workplace, and final assessment. (Enquire below for more details about option 2)

Successful completion of the unit of competency requires sufficient evidence of onsite or face-to-face training and a competent result for the closed-book knowledge assessments and practical assessment.

  • Participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of the unit of competency.
