High Risk Work Licence Short Courses

SWQ Training offers high risk work licence short courses between 3-5 days, dependent on the unit of competency required. To get a High Risk Work Licence you must successfully complete formal training and assessment. Upon successful completion you will be given an AS1 form which will enable you to complete the online application for a QLD HRWL at https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/.

CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging

DG

This course includes training to perform dogging, involving slinging techniques, selecting and inspecting lifting gear and directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane operator.

CPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic level

RB

This course provides training in performing basic rigging work, involving the movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters; and cantilever crane loading platforms.

CPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate level

RI

This course provides training in performing rigging work at intermediate level, which includes all the outcomes for rigging work at basic level, but also includes:
  • rigging of cranes
  • rigging of conveyors
  • rigging of dredges and excavators
  • rigging associated with tilt slabs
  • rigging associated with demolition work
  • dual lifts for licensing purposes

TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck

LF

This course provides training in the safe operation of a forklift truck, including determining height and load capacity and shifting loads in a safe manner.

A forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage.  A pair or fork arms, or other arms, can be attached to raise a load 900mm or more above the ground.  This does not include a pedestrian operated truck or a pallet truck.  

TLILIC0012 Licence to operate vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above)

CV

This course provides training in the safe operation of a vehicle loading crane with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more.  A vehicle loading crane is a crane mounted on a vehicle for the purpose of loading and unloading the vehicle.

TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

WP

This course provides training in the safe operation of a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more), involving the operation of a telescoping, hinged or articulated device to support a platform to elevate workers, equipment and materials.

TLILIC3006 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity)

CN

This course provides training in the safe operation of a non-slewing mobile crane with a capacity of more than 3 tonnes, incorporating a boom or jib that cannot be slewed.
A non-slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom or jib that cannot be slewed, and includes:
  • An articulated mobile crane
  • Plant equipment with a side boom attached
  • Telehandler with a jib attached greater than 3 tonne capacity
This course does not include vehicle tow trucks.

TLILIC3008 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes)

C2

This course provides training in the safe operation of a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 20 tonnes, incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed.  This course does not include earth moving equipment configured for crane operations.

TLILIC4009 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes)

C6

This course provides training in the safe operation of a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 60 tonnes, incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed.  This course does not include earth moving equipment configured for crane operations.

TLILIC4010 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 tonnes)

C1

This course provides training in the safe operation of a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 100 tonnes, incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed.  This course does not include earth moving equipment configured for crane operations.

TLILIC4011 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (over 100 tonnes)

C0

This course provides training in the safe operation of a slewing mobile crane with a capacity over 100 tonnes, incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed.  This course does not include earth moving equipment configured for crane operations.
