RIIMPO322E Conduct civil construction tracked front end loader operations


This course provides the training required to operate a tracked front end loader on civil construction worksites.


Upon successful completion of all course requirements, participants will be able to:
  • Identify and understand the relevant workplace health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Apply site and equipment safety requirements including safe operating in all terrains
  • Interpret drawings and sketches using civil construction terminology
  • Understand basic principles of soil technology and activity sequences of road construction , earthworks and drainage levelling techniques
  • Calculate basic earthworks and safe working loads calculations
  • Understand the safety data sheet and material handling methods
  • Operate, maintain and understand Wheeled Front End Loader tasks and Procedures, including basic diagnostics, methods of changing machine attachments, levelling techniques and shutdown and clean up procedures appropriate for the task.
  • Follow legislative, organisational and site requirement s/procedures including traffic management control and environmental requirements.
  • Understand and apply JSAs/Safe Work Method Statements.

Target Audience:

This course is intended for any person who is required to undertake Tracked Front End Loader operations as part of their workplace duties, or who would like to extend their workplace duties to include Tracked front End loader operations.

Learning Methods:

Delivery Option 1:  3-day face-to-face training sessions and final assessment.  Delivery length may vary dependent on client needs.
Delivery Option 2:  Initial enrolment, induction and logbook issue to learn while operating under the supervision of a licenced operator at your workplace, face to face training sessions and final assessment (please contact SWQ Training to discuss Delivery Option 2).

Experienced Operators:  ½ - 1 day face-to-face training session and final assessment, along with sufficient evidence to confirm operating history (ie. Third Party Report).
