UETTDRRF06B Perform rescue from a live LV panel is delivered in partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO # 90909. This course includes training to perform rescue procedure from live low voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cable in the workplace.

Target Audience:

This course is intended for any person who may be required to provide a first aid response in a workplace setting.

This unit has a pre-requisite requirement. This requirement may be met by successful completion of HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation or qualifications deemed equivalent.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify and obtain instruction for hazard and risk control measures for specific work functions and work areas
  • Identify and label electricity isolation point, where appropriate
  • Check the safety and functionality of tools and emergency equipment, ensuring all placed in an accessible location to facilitate response and rescue
  • Follow workplace procedures and work instructions for controlling risk
  • Follow workplace procedures for accessing and isolating the LV panel and removing the victim, where necessary, from contact with live apparatus
  • Follow workplace procedures for applying CPR, if required, and gaining access to treatment by a medical professional, if necessary.
  • Carry out rescue from live LV panel
  • Secure worksite and control entry until appropriate authorities inspect and release the site

Learning Methods:

3 hours of face-to-face training and assessment (course times may vary depending on a range of circumstances).

Re-certification Requirements: industry standards for refresher training vary, most states recommend refresher training every 12 months for perform rescue from a live LV panel.
