4WD

This course includes training to operate four wheel drive vehicles in a range of environments, as well as conducting routine maintenance as required.

Introduction:

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, participants will be able to:

Know and understand relevant workplace health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
Identify understand terminology specific to the operation of four wheel drive vehicles.
Plan for the environmental impact of a journey.
Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance prior to undertaking a journey.
Safely operate a four wheel drive vehicle, including engaging four wheel drive mode.
Safely carry out vehicle recovery activities.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs after a journey.

Participants will be complete RIIVEH201E Operate light vehicle, RIIVEH305F Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle & PMASUP236 Operate vehicles in the field.

Target Audience:

This course is intended for any person who is required to undertake operating and maintaining a four wheel drive vehicle as part of their duties, across a range of roles and industries, including civil construction, coal mining, drilling, extractive industries and metalliferous industries.

PRE-REQUISITE: The participant must have a current and valid driving licence to perform the practical activities of this assessment.
